APSB Timor Pony

APSB Timor Pony

In the application of the registrations for the Timor Pony, APSB Rules and Regulations will apply including the following:

1. [a] A Timor Pony is defined as:

[i] The progeny by a registered Timor pony stallion out of a registered Timor pony mare. Both sire & dam to be registered in the Timor Pony Register of the APSB Society and have been approved by the Waler Horse Owners & Breeders as pure Timor Pony and be branded with an identifiable brand and be DNA Typed.

2.[a] [ii] The progeny, male or female by a Timor pony stallion registered in the Timor Pony Register of the APSB and out of a mare registered in the Timor Pony Register of the APSB as F.S 2.

[b] An FS2 Timor Pony is the female progeny by a Timor pony stallion registered in the Timor Pony Register of the APSB and out of a mare registered in the Timor Pony Register of the APSB as FS1. Male progeny will be recorded as geldings.

[c] An FS1 Timor Pony is the female progeny by a Timor pony stallion registered in the Timor Pony Register of the APSB and out of a mare registered in the Timor Pony Register of the APSB as F.S. Male progeny will be recorded as geldings.

[d] An FS Timor Pony mare is the female progeny by a Timor pony stallion registered in the Timor Pony Register of the APSB and out of a mare registered in the Australian Pony Section of the APSB and not exceeding 12.2.hands in height. Male progeny will be recorded as geldings.

[i ]The owner of the sire must be a current financial member of the APSB.

[ii] The dam must be registered in the name of the breeder who must be a current financial member of the APSB. If the breeder is not the owner of the sire then an APSB certificate of service supplied by the stallion owner with all relevant information must also be lodged.

 

[iii] Mating details must have been recorded on the APSB annual breeding mare and
stallion returns to be lodged by July 31 each year. Failure to do so may require parent validation by DNA Typing of both parents and progeny.

[iv] The initial application must carry the breeders APSB recorded prefix and brand.

[v] Colt foals eligible as per 1 [a] [i] or [ii] must be Foal Recorded before the age of two [2]
years. Applications lodged after two years of age must be parent validated by DNA Typing of
both parents and progeny.

[vi] Filly foals must be adult registered from birth before the age of two [2] years – there is no
foal recording for filly foals. Applications lodged after two years of age must be parent validated
by DNA Typing of both parents and progeny

[vii] Application for Adult Registration of stallions must be accompanied by the Society’s
‘Stallion Certificate of Suitability’ which has been completed and signed by a Veterinary Surgeon
who will also take hair samples for DNA Typing as part of the Society’s Regulations. DNA kits
must be obtained through the APSB Office and processed by the University of Queensland.

[viii] Common horse or pony solid colours are accepted. Usual colours are bay, brown, cream.
Usually a dorsal stripe is present. Skewbald or piebald colours are not accepted into the
register.

[ix] The height of a Timor Pony shall not exceed 12.2.hands.

[x] Ponies in the Timor Pony Section shall be allotted the suffix “TP” following the
registration number.
